PKO Bank Polski recently announced the launch of a virtual space in Decentraland. We therefore had to invite them to participate in our series of interviews on the metaverse pioneers. Marek Myszka, Head of Innovation at PKO Bank Polski aswered our questions.
Why would an industry that is not entertainment-based invest so much in establishing a presence in the metaverse?
In the world of technology, there is a breakthrough every couple of years. This is particularly clear in the financial sector. PKO Bank Polski is an example of a company that has gone a long way from an analogue to a digital bank.
We have built the best mobile banking app, the first sectoral solution based on blockchain, and even our own artificial intelligence, which services millions of our clients. The goal that is guiding us has been unchanged for years: we still want to be the technological leader in the sector and to pioneer solutions that will make the lives of our clients easier. To be able to implement this strategic goal, we need fresh visionary decisions to be made. We want to become the leader of banking in the metaverse, just as we have become the leader of mobile banking in Poland.
