Prudential is partnering with Google Cloud to establish an AI Lab, set to launch later this year, to transform the insurance and healthcare sectors across Asia and Africa. This collaboration will equip Prudential’s 15,000 employees with AI tools to enhance customer experiences, improve operations, and increase access to affordable healthcare.
The AI Lab will focus on developing AI-powered solutions that align with Prudential’s strategic goals, such as improving customer service, advancing technology-driven distribution, and expanding access to quality healthcare. By utilizing Google Cloud’s expertise in health-focused and generative AI technologies, Prudential aims to foster innovation in life and health insurance.
Key objectives include creating personalized healthcare applications, boosting agents’ ability to deliver seamless service, and streamlining internal processes. Employees will have access to a sandbox environment for experimenting with AI and data analytics to turn their ideas into market-ready products.
“We are committed to using technology to benefit all our stakeholders and enhance both customer and agent experiences. Our expanded partnership with Google Cloud will unlock innovation and help us grow, particularly in health insurance,” a Prudential representative said.
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, added: “Generative AI offers a significant opportunity for innovation in insurance. Our collaboration with Prudential will reimagine customer experiences and open up new growth possibilities.”
Located in Singapore, the AI Lab will also engage with research institutions and startups, continuing the partnership that began between Prudential and Google Cloud in 2019, with a shared goal of improving insurance, health, and financial outcomes across Asia and Africa.
