Arab Bank has launched an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Hackathon to inspire employees to develop innovative solutions that align with the bank’s sustainability goals. Initially piloted in Jordan, Palestine, and Egypt, the initiative aims to expand to all countries where the bank operates.
The Hackathon emphasizes Arab Bank’s commitment to fostering an internal ESG culture. It encourages employees from diverse departments to collaborate, exchange ideas, and propose solutions that reduce environmental impact, enhance social practices, and promote responsible governance. This aligns with the bank’s strategy to embed ESG principles into its operations.
Participants worked with industry experts, mentors, and Arab Bank decision-makers through workshops and interactive sessions. Proposals were reviewed by the bank’s ESG Office and AB Xelerate, with top ideas presented to senior management. Winners were celebrated for their creativity and impact.
This initiative complements Arab Bank’s comprehensive ESG strategy, launched in 2023, which integrates sustainability into its governance model, supports the transition to a low-carbon economy, and drives social development. With a strong ESG governance framework, Arab Bank continues to lead in embedding sustainability across all facets of its operations.
