Innovation presentation
Kuwait International Bank (KIB) launched the first-of-its-kind real estate digital platform in Kuwait, KIB Aqari, in July 2023. The platform is a one-stop shop for real estate-related needs, dedicated to KIB customers interested in owning, selling, and renting real estate. Available on the Apple or Google Play Stores, the comprehensive platform allows customers to manage, evaluate, and maximize their real estate portfolio from anywhere. Its features include automated rent collection and late rent payment tracking, in addition to other services. It also enables customers to add their trusted property manager to manage a property on their behalf. More importantly, KIB Aqari allows customers to digitally request a property appraisal in four simple steps with follow-up features and live updates. On top of that, it allows them to verify KIB appraisal reports using the Bank's 'Scan QR code feature'. The launch of Aqari is a testament to KIB's market-leading position. The main inspiration behind this project was the emerging need for Proptech or property technology. While the real estate sector is one of the main pillars of a country's economy, the adoption of technology in this area is slow in comparison with the high demand. To this end, KIB has created a full workflow and automation solution for the real estate appraisal process. KIB developed Aqari, which translates to `my property', in an agile framework, where the customer is a part of the solution. Users were involved in ideation sessions, product testing, and design.
