Goodfairy Insurance is a groundbreaking, multi-awarded insurance broker that combines car insurance with social and environmental impact. It allows users to compare car insurance quotes online, save money, and donate part of the commission fee to a nonprofit organization of their choice.

Concept and Objectives

Our mission is to redefine car insurance as a purpose-driven product. By enabling customers to support charitable causes through their purchases, we aim to bridge the gap between personal needs and collective social responsibility. Our objectives include driving measurable social and environmental change, disrupting the insurance industry with an innovative business model, and offering customers a seamless, value-packed insurance experience.

Reasons Behind

The traditional car insurance market lacks emotional engagement and purpose. We wanted to transform this transactional necessity into a meaningful act of giving back to society. Consumers today demand more purpose-driven brands, and we believe insurance can be reimagined to align with these values.

State of Competition

While several platforms focus on insurance comparison, none combine it with a “Buy-Give-Back” model. This unique blend of practicality and purpose sets Goodfairy apart. Our People + Planet First certification and transparent donation process further differentiate us, appealing to socially conscious consumers.

Sources of Inspiration

We were inspired by the growing consumer trends of supporting purpose-driven brands, that use the success of buy-one-give-one models like TOMS Shoes. We saw an opportunity to bring this spirit of giving into the insurance sector, creating a platform that benefits all stakeholders.

The initiative involves multiple key departments:

• Technology and Product Development: To create a seamless comparison platform. • Marketing and Branding: To communicate our unique value proposition. • Impact and Sustainability: To ensure alignment with ESG principles and track social and environmental impact.

Main Results So Far

Since the soft launch of our platform, without any advertising expense, Goodfairy has:

• Built partnerships with major Greek insurance providers and nonprofits, onboarding 52 non-profits and 9 insurance companies • Proven its business model by attracting 135 purpose-driven paid customers • Made 279 donation, totaling €5.649 • Earned the world’s first People + Planet First certification as an insurance broker. • Gained recognition in sustainability and innovation circles, including winning many prestigious awards, like Platinum in the Digital Finance Awards and Gold in the Hellenic Responsible Business Award, becoming an Academic Case Study in Circular Economy at the 2023 ISPIM conference and taking part in high-profile speaking engagements and conference appearances, including TEDxDUTH and Insurtech Conferences • Becoming an official member of the Greek Startup registry, Elevate Greece and participating in the most prestigious startup incubator of South East Europe, EGG ENTER, GROW, organized by Eurobank.

Goodfairy is on track to scale its impact while reshaping how customers view and interact with insurance.
