Innovation presentation

The World Health Organization defines health as "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." Our aim in this project was to protect the health of our customers in every aspect and to emphasize the importance of mental health. In our analysis, we saw that health insurance products in Turkey are focused entirely on physical health, although mental health is equally important to physical health in order for people to be completely healthy. As an insight-focused company, in our research, we saw that 1 out of every 3 people in Türkiye do not feel mentally healthy. In addition to this we saw that people cannot take action regarding their mental health because their health insurance does not cover psychologist sessions. Therefore, we decided that in order to provide our customers with a complete health insurance product we needed to include a mental health coverage as well as physical health, making Ray Sigorta the first insurance company in Turkey to truly tap into the mental health sector.

We started looking for a business partner who could develop this project with us. It was very important for us to work with a company that cares about mental health as much as we do. After meeting with companies that provide online psychologists, we decided to work with Eczacıbaşı Evital, a health start-up run by one of Turkey's largest companies. We completed the product development together with our Health Product department, Marketing Department, Information Technology and Project Management Departments.

We added 6 psychologist sessions to our Complementary Health Insurance product which the customer can use from Evital's mobile application. We had alse seen in our research that stress affects daily life greatly in Turkey. Since stres is the cause of so many health problems, we added a Stress Check-Up to our product to make it easier to detect stress-related diseases. We also added B12, Vitamin D and Magnesium tests, which are especially important in detecting stress-related illnesses. We are also providing a holistic protection for our customers by adding inpatient treatment and rehabilitation coverage for mental illnesses.

While developing the product, we paid great attention to providing services and coverages that the customer would want to use and need and that they cannot find elsewhere. Likewise, we designed the simplest and best user experience for Ray Sigorta customers with Evital.
