Small and medium-sized businesses in Portugal face ongoing operational friction, limited visibility over multi-bank accounts, manual reconciliation of invoices and payments, difficulty accessing short-term financing, and time-consuming onboarding. Millennium bcp’s new Corporate Homebanking platform was designed from the ground up to solve these issues. Following two years of benchmarking and co-creation—including direct input from 1,300 SMEs, 2,000 internal users, and over 5,000 companies during pilot testing—the platform launched in January 2025 with a modular, API-driven architecture focused on usability, speed, and integration. Key features include: 1. Comprehensive Financial Overview: Aggregate accounts across banks; 2. AI-Powered Cash Flow Forecasting: Anticipate financial events with proactive alerts; 3. Custom Widgets and Interactive Statements: Personalize views and track transactions with context; 4. Simplified Payments Hub: Initiate all types of transfers in one place; 5. Open Banking Integration: Real-time connection to external accounts; 6. Drag-and-Drop File Payments and full Digital Credit Line onboarding (up to €15,000 in 4 minutes). Unlike legacy solutions that evolve incrementally, Millennium rebuilt the platform to streamline operations for SMEs and scale with future product additions. Execution was led by multidisciplinary internal teams with support from partners like IT Sector and Bliss. With 78% of corporate client transactions now processed digitally, the solution has materially improved customer experience, operational efficiency, and digital adoption—anchoring Millennium bcp’s position as a leader in SME-focused banking innovation.
