Innovation presentation

Mobile 3.0 is a breakthrough in digital banking for Citadele, introducing a customer-centric, forward-looking experience that redefines the standard in the Baltic region. Designed to replace our 2018 legacy app, this project was not an upgrade, but a complete reinvention—powered by a new architecture, design language, and digital product strategy. The app centralizes all essential banking functions—products, rewards, payments, loans—within a sleek, modular interface tailored for modern usage patterns. Customers benefit from a highly intuitive UX featuring features like real-time balance updates, personalized dashboard, phone-to-phone payments, and integrated card controls. The vision behind Mobile 3.0 aligned with Citadele’s mission as an agile, digitally-native challenger bank. In just eight months, a cross-functional team of 30+ experts from product, design, engineering, marketing, and business launched the product. This included overcoming substantial legacy technical debt while maintaining delivery velocity. Innovations such as our multilingual AI chatbot Adele, instant SEPA payments, and native mobile wallet integration position Citadele as a digital leader. Already boasting the highest app ratings and NPS scores among Baltic banks, Mobile 3.0 continues to evolve, with new MVPs planned to enhance and expand the customer experience.
