DBS Bank's Institutional Banking Group Operations (IBGO) launched a groundbreaking Generative AI solution to revolutionize the processing of manual payments. This initiative leverages the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to significantly reduce manual effort and improve overall efficiency, ultimately leading to a superior customer experience. Our innovative solution, Cash Manual Payments Extraction and Processing, leveraged on Generative AI to revolutionize transaction capture. By automating data extraction from scanned manual payment forms (structured forms with handwritten payment instructions, structured forms with typewritten payment instructions and unstructured forms with typewritten payment instructions) from a previously 100% manual data entry process. The automation of a previously labour-intensive process marks a significant step forward in DBS's commitment to providing faster and more effective payment solutions. This solution was launched in India in 2024. The implementation has been implemented in Singapore and is planned to be regionalized further in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Vietnam in 2025 and 2026, scaling the benefits across our key markets.
