Disruption, Diversification and Demand in Digital Banking

Masterclass

The Financial Services sector is undergoing seismic digital disruption at speed, which is resulting in changes as radical as those brought about in other sectors by the likes of Amazon, Uber, Spotify and Airbnb. The early signs of disruption were evident years ago but largely ignored due to either arrogance or complacency. The players in this space are diversifying and action is required to survive and thrive. The pandemic has only served to accelerate this process.

Anyone working in banking needs to understand how digital is disrupting the sector, and how to identify and address both the resulting challenges and opportunities.

This masterclass program gives participants understanding and insights on how fintech has evolved, the current market dynamics and the likely shape of the next phase of development. It also provides a foundational appreciation, for a non-technical audience, of the key technologies driving this change. Finally, it explores the key subject of Digital Transformation. How should a bank respond to the challenges and opportunities presented by digital disruption? What can be learned from the experience of others; what works and what doesn’t.

Throughout these sessions, we will look at case studies of leading players, and consider the relevant insights from looking at different regions of the world.

This program is divided into 3 sessions of 3 hours each on the following topics:

1. The Evolution of Digital Banks and Banking – past, present & future
