French insurer Solly Azar is innovating by offering the first health insurance plan that covers the medical expenses of the entire family, including dogs and cats.
Innovation Masters: How insurers generate new revenues with pet ecosystems
With France boasting 22.6 million dogs and cats, and more than half of French households (52%) owning at least one pet, less than 8% on average have pet insurance. Although solutions exist to insure pets, the French have not yet adopted this habit as widely as some other European countries.
However, the need is undeniable! Veterinary fees are continually rising due to inflation, and French pet owners do not want to choose between their pet's health and their wallet.
In response, Solly Azar has created a unique and unprecedented subscription process, offering coverage for all family members, including dogs and cats, with the "Family Vet" option, starting at just €3.90 per month.
The coverage offered is comprehensive, including routine care and hospitalization, with limits up to €2,200 per year. As Solly Azar celebrates 40 years of providing pet insurance, the company is committed to changing mindsets so that every owner considers insuring their pet from a young age, ensuring they are well covered throughout their lives.
"Innovation is in our DNA, and we at Solly Azar are very proud to launch this unique offer in the health insurance market, becoming the first insurer to consider pets as true family members," says Myriam Saada, Director of Product and Customer Experience at Solly Azar.
