In line with our Bank’s vision of “creating sustainable value for the future with an inclusive and participatory approach”, we introduced a next-generation payment feature that enables contactless payment via mobile phones and smartwatches using debit and MaxiPara (prepaid) cards.

With this innovation, we moved beyond the traditional notion of contactless payments being tied to physical cards. Customers can now make secure and seamless payments directly from their Android mobile phones or wearable devices, without needing to carry any physical card.

This inclusive solution especially appeals to young adults and digital-app users who seek flexibility, speed, and convenience in their daily financial interactions. By extending contactless payment capabilities beyond credit cards, we enabled a broader customer base to benefit from this technology, regardless of their banking habits or product ownership.

Our approach was shaped by growing customer expectations for mobile-first financial tools and global trends in wearable technology adoption. While many banks focus on contactless experiences for credit card holders, our implementation supports a wide range of card types and devices. By enabling both debit and prepaid cards for mobile and smartwatch payments, we position ourselves at the forefront of inclusive and comprehensive digital banking services. Beyond improving customer convenience, this innovation also contributes to our sustainability goals. Reducing reliance on plastic cards by encouraging digital-first habits helps us lower environmental impact and align with our commitment to responsible banking and long term creation.

Developed through the collaboration of various teams, the feature was launched successfully in May 2025 and generated strong user engagement. By allowing every customer, regardless of their card type, to benefit from mobile and wearable contactless technology, we are one step closer to a truly cashless, cardless and inclusive financial ecosystem.
