The training sector is living a digital transformation, and virtual reality (VR) is emerging as a solution to solve several known issues such as employee available time for training, information retention management, manage costs, employee motivation. Crédit Agricole Ile de France has sponsored an initiative in the course of an internal open innovation process called CR-Thon, leading to a successful experimentation project. The experimentation is a custom-made VR platform by CA-TS (Crédit Agricole Technologies et Services) that enables regional banks and IFCAM, the university of Crédit Agricole Group, to independently create, share, and distribute VR-based training scenarios using 360° videos and AI for scenarios with voice interaction. VR training is complementary to existing methods and offers unique benefits. It provides immersion, realism, and the ability to experiment daily situations that are not possible with standards training programs. Trainees can live realistic scenarios and practice their skills in a safe and controlled environment, which can significantly reduce training costs by eliminating the need for expensive physical equipment and venues. Since its launch in early 2021, the solution has been adopted by 13 Regional Banks as a new training format for their employees, and the catalog has today more than 40 available training scenarios.
