MyJourney is a digital platform, designed by employees, for employees that enables workforce transformation by assessing employees skills, provides personalized suggestions for training and on-the-job development activities based on their skills gaps and development plans and suggest future career moves aligned to their skills profiles and preferences. The platform not only drives upskilling and reskilling by actively engaging employees to focus on the learning activities most critical to them but also provides insights to leaders and managers through real-time data on the skills in their organization and teams supporting data driven strategic workforce planning.

MyJourney is an end-to-end skills, career and development planning tool. Built for employees, by employees, this innovation empowers employees to take their career planning into their own hands by understanding skills gaps for their current or future roles, getting suggestions for career moves based on their skills profile and getting development recommendations such as training courses, mentor programs or on the job learning assignments to develop their chosen skills. The skills data from the tool provides a rich insight into skills across the organization that enables targeted development planning and supports strategic workforce planning.

The initial Core product offering, which includes the features listed below, is being rolled out to all business units globally (41+ units, 77k employees) this year, in their local languages - but this is just the beginning. We are already delivering on the next phase of our robust product roadmap, which we will continue to refine based on inputs from employees, HR and business leaders regarding what will bring the most value to individuals and to the organization.

For employees: Skill assessments, career recommendations, skills gaps for current or future roles, personalized development recommendations, The My70Percent on the job learning opportunities marketplace

For managers: Overview of teams skills, view of individual team members skills profile and development recommendations

For the organization: Overview of skills throughout the organization, ability to integrate with workforce planning tools

For human resources: Integration of learning from multiple providers through APIs. Insights into skills gaps to support development planning & investment, increased in learning hours and skill development, accelerates internal mobility

MyJourney is at the heart of Zurich’s People Sustainability commitment to future-proof our people by supporting them to grow in their career and develop new skills. It drives a skills-based approach to learning, development and careers and provides an internal marketplace for talent. It enables employees and managers to proactively manage of upskilling and reskilling and promotes a continuous learning mindset and establishes career support networks through mentoring and community’s of practice.

With MyJourney, we are elevating the development and career planning process for all employees by providing a personalized career planning experience and unique learning journey – hence our name, which was selected by employees in a poll..

Whilst there are learning platforms and skills assessment tools on the market, the unique experience we have created is not available from any other vendor. With a strong focus on customer experience - where employees are our customer – MyJourney provides a seamless user journey, providing them with individual insights and recommendations based on their skills and preferences. This includes support for local integrations and customizations that ensures relevant recommendations for employees, such as local training and mentoring programs.

The My70Percent marketplace is one of the unique selling points. It was created to address employee feedback that after a training course they did not get the opportunity to apply the skills they had learned in the workplace and the name, also chosen by employees, reflect that in the 70:20:10 model for learning and development, 70% of learning takes place on the job. My70percent lets employees find a short-term assignment that will allow them to build skills on the job. Employees can register as a ‘self-starter’ with the skills they want to develop and search for available opportunities or post their profile so they can be contacted when an opportunity becomes available. All assignments are global and remote, enabling not just on the job learning but also the opportunity to work with people in different functions and countries, thus broadening your network, knowledge of the organization and experiences. The tool has a simple approval process build that keeps the employee, their managers and the hiring manager updated throughout the assignment lifecycle.

MyJourney integrates HR tools such as SAP platforms with learning content from industry leaders such as LinkedIn Learning & Coursera alongside native content such as interactive employee skills passports. Fully API enabled, MyJourney easily enables the integration of learning content that can be tailored to the accessibility for each user.

MyJourney which is coded in .net and React, is fully integrated with Zurich authentication systems, eliminating the need for users to remember a distinct password. The platform also adheres to Zurich's strict security standards, while avoiding that users have to enter their credentials multiple times to access different training content.

Roll-out of the app is done in collaboration with local Business Units. The teams use Operational Readiness checklists to ensure that required local configurations are completed and tested prior to launch, and that all security and compliance reviews are approved. The global team also engages with local HR teams and champions to provide editable templates and videos to support launch of the app in local languages.
