"Insurance with a Cause" is an innovative communication initiative that redefines the role of insurance by directly linking policies to social and environmental causes. Customers who buy policies not only receive insurance protection but are also informed that their purchase helps contribute to meaningful projects that address key societal challenges such as environmental conservation, health research, social inclusion, and education. The goal is to create a measurable impact while enhancing customer engagement and brand trust.
Consumers increasingly seek purpose-driven products that align with their values. Recognizing this shift, we developed an “Insurance with a Cause” campaign to enable customers to connect with our social and environmental causes and efforts. While some insurance companies report their impact efforts in a general way, we connect them with our products. This initiative differentiates itself by making social and environmental impact an intrinsic part of the policy.
The causes we collaborate on, and the products linked to them are:
1) Socio-labor integration of vulnerable groups - Insurances: Payment protection and Shops Committed to being agents of change, we support entities and projects that promote and enhance employability and socio-labor integration for vulnerable groups.
*We are a strategic partner in B-Value. Led by Fundación Ship2B and Fundación Banco Sabadell, B-Value aims to transform the social sector through innovation and recognition of third-sector entities. Being a strategic partner of B-Value allows us to support impactful, innovative, and sustainable social projects while gaining shared knowledge about the sector and participating in mentoring programs with our employees.
*We collaborate with the Z Zurich Foundation and El Llindar Foundation on La Fàbrika project, to support vulnerable youth aged 16 to 25. El Llindar is a second chance school that guides and supports adolescents and young people excluded from the educational and social system, offering them the opportunity to reintegrate into education and improve their employability. La Fàbrika is a new space that provides training and internships in digital manufacturing, including 3D machinery, laser cutting, and CNC milling.
2) Health & quality of life - Insurances: Life & Health
*We join the fight against cancer by supporting research and highlighting the importance of developing oncology therapies. We collaborate, mainly, with: -Asociación Española contra el Cáncer -Fundación Contigo contra el cáncer femenino
*We contribute to reducing accidents and their consequences through the traffic accident prevention program named “Game Over”, with Instituto Guttmann, a leading hospital in Spain for the treatment and rehabilitation of neurological injuries. The program aims to raise awareness among young people aged 15 to 18 and encourages them to develop responsible behaviors, adopt cautious attitudes, and take the necessary safety measures when driving a motor vehicle.
3) Conservation and restoration of high-value ecological habitats - Insurances: Household, motor and funeral Our innovation project involves financially supporting associations dedicated to environmental conservation so that they can purchase high-value ecological land and preserve it in the long term. At the end of 2022, we made a donation for the purchase of land in La Pobla de Claramunt (Barcelona) together with the Xarxa per la Conservació de la Natura and Col·lectiu Eixarcolant.
“Insurance with cause” initiative involves a cross-functional effort, including teams from sustainability, marketing, value proposition, customer communication, IT, finance and legal.
Since its launch in 2023, “Insurance with a Cause” has: *Donated around 400k€ to social and environmental initiatives. *Established a network of partnerships with 9 Spanish foundations. *Strengthened brand reputation and customer loyalty.
