Foyer developed a structured system that enables its policyholders to use certified reuse parts when repairing their vehicles following a claim. Initially introduced through the “moov” product, this approach has since been extended across our entire car insurance portfolio, evolving from a product initiative into a company-wide transformation of our repair model.
At the heart of this transformation is the systematic integration of certified reuse parts into the vehicle repair process, supported by a dedicated and structured network of partner garages.
At the time of subscription, policyholders can opt for repairs using reuse parts. These parts are original manufacturer components, ensuring full compatibility, quality, and performance. Repairs are handled efficiently through our trusted partner network, maintaining high quality of service and operational efficiency.
Foyer provides a lifetime guarantee on these parts against failure potentially caused by their use. Strict selection criteria apply: safety-critical components such as braking systems are excluded, while parts such as body panels, wheels, or non-structural elements are eligible.
To enable this model in Luxembourg where reuse parts were not previously integrated into car insurance repair processes, we established a dedicated partner garage network and gave garages access to certified reuse parts via our partnership with GPA, a leading industrial player in automotive recycling and the first mission-driven company in its sector in France. Before this initiative, there was no organised ecosystem facilitating large-scale reuse parts sourcing locally. Our project contributed to a shift in market practices and mindset, creating new operational standards.
This initiative required strong cross-departmental collaboration, involving IT, Legal, Claims, Underwriting, Commercial, and Finance teams. Together, they adapted internal systems, contractual frameworks, claims workflows, accounting treatment, and partner agreements to fully embed reuse parts into our car insurance operations.
The project aligns with our broader ESG commitments and circular economy ambitions, as well as evolving European sustainability regulations and best practices observed in neighbouring countries. It positions car insurance not only as risk coverage, but as an active contributor to resource efficiency and carbon reduction.
Market feedback has been highly positive. When offered the option, without obligation, a majority of customers choose reuse parts when available, confirming growing acceptance and trust in sustainable repair solutions.
This initiative, pioneered by our “moov” product has transformed reuse parts from an alternative repair method into a structured, scalable, and environmentally impactful pillar of car insurance.
