Efma’s Boris Plantier speaks to Jin Kang Møller, vice president of Group Customer Experience and founder of The Great Design Masterclass at OCBC Bank, to find out what a day in her life looks like.
Please tell me a little about your background
I’m a designer by trade, I have majored in product design and visual communications in South Korea where I was born and grew up. My relationship with the financial services industry started when I joined Credit Suisse in Zurich in 2008, the year the global financial crisis hit the industry – as well as the financial lives of millions of people.
I lead simplicity initiatives that aim to help banking clients understand products clearly so that they can make confident financial decisions. It was turning point in my career as I saw the power of design; what change the human-centered design process can bring to the financial services.
Since 2010, I’ve worked at OCBC Bank in Singapore leading customer experience initiatives for private banking, retail banking, wealth management and insurance businesses focusing on simplicity and digital transformation. Starting in 2018, I launched Great Design Masterclass, OCBC’s human-centered design program, which aims to build design leadership and cultivate innovation capabilities across the bank.
