Ant Insurance sees 23% YoY surge in payouts via Alipay's app
This surge was fueled by rising medical consultation needs and the introduction of zero-deductible products.
In 2023, Ant Insurance, part of Alipay's digital life service, reported a remarkable 23% YoY growth, reaching RMB 23.1 billion (USD 3.22 billion) in partner insurer payouts. This surge was fueled by rising medical consultation needs and the introduction of zero-deductible products.
The health insurance category alone processed 4.69 million claims, thanks to the platform's AI-driven EasyClaims feature, simplifying the claiming process and contributing to a 94% overall user satisfaction rate.
Ant Insurance attributes its success to a recovery in medical consultations and the strategic launch of zero-deductible products. Notably, 98% of health insurance claims leveraged EasyClaims, showcasing its widespread adoption across 90 products from 12 leading insurers.
To enhance transparency, starting January 2024, Ant Insurance will introduce monthly EasyClaims Scores, evaluating selected insurance products based on submission success, timely completion, settlement acceptance, and user satisfaction.
Fang Yong, Head of Claims Technology at Ant Insurance, emphasized their commitment to delivering industry-leading claims services through collaboration with insurers, providing broad coverage, transparency, and user-friendly support. The positive feedback reflects thoughtful AI integration, simplifying the claim submission process and aiding users in selecting insurance products with clarity.
