Allianz Trade, a leading trade credit insurer, has partnered with Inclusive Brains, a French start-up, to develop Prometheus, a revolutionary brain-machine interface. This innovative technology utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) and neurotechnologies to empower people with disabilities by allowing them to control workstations, connected objects, and digital environments using neurophysiological data such as brainwaves, heart activity, facial expressions, and eye movements.

Prometheus aims to provide greater autonomy for individuals who have lost the ability to use their hands or speak. By translating diverse neurophysiological data into mental commands, the interface enables users to operate devices without traditional input methods such as keyboards or touchscreens.

“Inclusive Brains’ generative AI models and multimodal neural interfaces benefit everyone, regardless of their physical abilities. True inclusion means developing solutions that assist each and every one of us, without discrimination. Being able to control a computer with your mind, eyes, or by blinking will be life-changing for many people with paralysis, enabling them to communicate with the world,” explains Olivier Oullier, Co-founder & CEO of Inclusive Brains.

Allianz Trade's partnership with Inclusive Brains underscores its commitment to leveraging technology for positive social impact. By supporting the development of Prometheus, Allianz Trade aims to accelerate the integration of people with disabilities and promote inclusivity in the workplace and beyond.

The Prometheus technology, already advanced, has undergone successful usability tests with organizations supporting people with cognitive disabilities and paralysis. In a few weeks, the technology will be used during the Olympic Torch Relay by a torchbearer with a motor disability to control an arm exoskeleton, showcasing its potential to enhance accessibility and inclusivity on a global scale.

“Allianz Group has been a historical partner of the International Paralympic Committee since 2006. As Allianz Trade, this makes Prometheus even closer to our heart and fully aligned with our values and our investment in science and innovation,” adds Aylin Somersan Coqui, CEO of Allianz Trade.

Inclusive Brains and Allianz Trade are committed to furthering their collaboration to develop additional AI-powered assistive technologies, such as a mind-controlled keyboard and AI models to improve workplace safety.

“Our gen AI-powered neural interfaces will pave the way for a new generation of smart tools and workstations that will assist everybody. We are delighted to be partnering with Allianz Trade, as our goals are aligned: to leverage technology and AI for the greater good,” adds Paul Barbaste, Co-founder, and CTO of Inclusive Brains.
