Sun Life launches innovative insurance solution for Canadians living with diabetes

Sun Life has introduced a pioneering product, Sun Life Term Insurance for Diabetes, tailored specifically for Canadians managing diabetes. This industry-first offering provides a higher chance of approval, affordable premiums, and personalized care to empower individuals with diabetes.

"One third of Canadians are living with diabetes or pre-diabetes, and rates are rising quickly," said Rowena Chan, President of Sun Life Financial Distributors (Canada) Inc., and Senior Vice-President of Retail Advice & Solutions. "This solution helps people take control of their lives and long-term wellbeing. Along with valuable protection, Sun Life Term Insurance for Diabetes helps clients focus on healthy living while accessing holistic advice and innovative insurance solutions to achieve their financial and health goals."

Sun Life Term Insurance for Diabetes includes:

Affordable premiums.

Access to Sun Life's Diabetes Care Program, which offers an evidence-based, personalized care plan. This includes one-on-one support, virtual education sessions with healthcare professionals, and diabetes-related resources.

Sun Life has partnered with Diabetes Canada to provide essential information and education to Canadians about living with diabetes. Jennifer Buccino, Executive Director of Diabetes Knowledge & Connection at Diabetes Canada, emphasized the importance of access to necessary care and treatments for managing diabetes effectively.
