Sun Life U.S. has expanded its partnership with Goodpath to offer comprehensive virtual whole-person care as an employee benefit, addressing both physical and mental health needs with services such as unlimited therapy sessions. This initiative aims to help Sun Life's disability clients support their employees' health, potentially reducing absences and extended leaves.

Amid ongoing healthcare accessibility challenges, Sun Life continues to broaden its health service offerings to ensure people receive the necessary care and coverage. David Healy, president of Group Benefits at Sun Life U.S., highlighted the importance of integrating physical and mental health in employee wellness strategies, noting the successful collaboration with Goodpath for members with musculoskeletal and long COVID-19 conditions.

Goodpath's whole-person care services cover mental health, musculoskeletal conditions, digestive issues, sleep concerns, and cancer survivorship. Key features include:

• Unlimited talk therapy sessions: Virtual sessions with licensed mental health therapists.

• Customized care: Personalized health assessments to create tailored health care plans.

• Health coaching: Access to dedicated health coaches with clinical expertise.

• Remote access: The Goodpath app offers exercise therapy, mind-body interventions, behavioral health programs, learning modules, and other wellness resources.

• Custom care kits: Monthly delivery of necessary items such as devices, supplements, or therapy tools to participating employees' homes.

Dr. Tracy Hamill, M.D., assistant vice president and medical director of Group Claims and Clinical Services at Sun Life U.S., emphasized the value of holistic care, which includes mental health support, to maintain wellness both at work and home.

Bill Gianoukos, CEO of Goodpath, expressed enthusiasm for the expanded partnership, highlighting that whole-person care can lead to improved health outcomes and potentially lower healthcare costs.

Initially launched last year, the partnership has already shown significant improvements in participants' pain severity, anxiety, and depression. Sun Life clients now have access to Goodpath's enhanced whole-person care services, reinforcing a commitment to comprehensive employee health and wellness.
