Sonia Wedrychowicz, Managing Director, Head of Technology Transformation, Consumer and Community Bank at JPMorgan Chase & Co, discusses work, success and leadership with Efma’s Boris Plantier.


Please tell me a little about your background.

I’ve spent the last 24 years working in banking. I started in Poland, at Citibank, where I led Global Transaction Services and then the Consumer Banking business. During my last years in Poland, I was Deputy CEO and a member of the management board. In 2012, I moved to Asia and spent the last six years between Malaysia and Singapore. In Malaysia I was Head of Consumer Bank for Standard Chartered Bank. In Singapore I was with DBS, the biggest bank in the market, where I led two transformational digital initiatives: a digital-only challenger bank called digibank and later the Open Banking portal and sandbox.
