Jun Seong Han
HANA INSTITUTE OF FINANCE
Deputy President, Group Chief Innovation Officer & Chief Information Officer
Efma’s Boris Plantier speaks to Jun Seong Ha, chief future innovation officer at KEB Hana bank, to understand what a day in his working life looks like.
Please tell me a little about your background.
I started my career as a banker. I am lucky to have been in the banking field for more than 30 years now. I have worked in digital banking since 1999, after operating in a retail branch, IT and strategic business. Throughout those years I’ve planned innovative sales strategies, worked with the regulatory bodies regarding the launch of Korea’s very first smartphone banking service, and came up with the first e-wallet in Korea enabling the transfer and payment of funds only using phone numbers. I have always liked to take the path less taken.
Since 2014, I have been working as CFIO (chief future innovation officer) at KEB Hana bank and Hana financial group. It is a challenging but enjoyable task because it not only involves the digital innovation of the bank, but also credit card companies, securities companies and insurance companies too.
