Innovation presentation

"Purpose of providing services" Aflac is working to provide services using digital technology to contribute to realizing a society where everyone can live secure and healthy lives in their own way. As part of this effort, Aflac decided to provide an insurance and health-related application to a mirror-type IoT device developed by a start-up company and roll it out as “Aflac Mirror.” Aflac Mirror not only measures face surface temperature and pulse through the daily act of looking in a mirror, but also provides content to support customers’ physical care based on the measurement results. Moreover, measurement results can be shared among family members for monitoring the health of distant family members. Through the rollout of Aflac Mirror, Aflac aims to provide solutions for various societal issues in Japan, even beyond the insurance business. While various devices and smartphone applications offer a variety of physical care services, it is difficult for the elderly in particular to use them selectively and regularly. Consequently, Aflac Mirror has been tested for its ability to measure surface temperature, pulse, etc. so that people can take care of their body through the casual daily act of looking in a mirror. Each screen is designed to be easy to view and understand so that it can be used easily as a mirror or IoT device. Further improvements were made to create UI/UX that can be used by elderly people who are not familiar with operating digital devices by combining it with audio operation and minimizing touch operation. "Key functions" 1. Function to measure face surface temperature, pulse, etc. without directly touching the device 2. Function to easily share face surface temperature/pulse results with distant family members - Recommended recipe suiting physical condition - Recommended exercise videos for various body parts - Reminder for taking medication, etc. - Brain-activating games
