Concept and Objectives: The Fairfirst Digital Shop redefined how customers purchase Travel Insurance (listed as Accident Insurance on the platform). The goal was to give travelers a fast and reliable way to secure coverage online, removing the need for manual paperwork or delays.
Reasons Behind: As travel rebounded, customers increasingly sought digital convenience and peace of mind before departure. Traditional methods required physical visits or multiple follow-ups. The platform solved this by offering an end-to-end digital solution available anytime and anywhere.
State of Competition: Competitors often provide travel policy inquiries or manual issuance. Fairfirst became the first insurer in Sri Lanka to provide a real-time digital purchase journey for travel coverage with instant documentation.
Sources of Inspiration: We were inspired by leading travel insurers and digital booking systems that simplify user experiences through real-time confirmation and transparency.
Departments Involved: The Marketing & Digital Solutions Department led the project from concept to launch, partnering with IT, Underwriting, and other verious inter departments to ensure smooth implementation and integration.
Main Results So Far: Travel (Accident) Insurance has seen rapid digital adoption with strong online GWP growth, high conversion rates, and positive feedback from travelers who value the convenience and instant coverage experience.
