Back in 2010 - 2011 we realized that if we wanted to simplify people’s lives and save their time for what really matters, we had to give them the best way to bank remotely which would be simple. So we built a suite of mobile banking products that could reach anybody regardless of their age, location, education or income level, while covering all the basic banking needs. We have significantly grown our SMS banking user base in last 2 years, reaching 55+ mln. subscribers. Over 18 mln. customers are actively using payments and transfers via SMS, which gives opportunity to cover entire country with its wide far regions territory and limited mobile internet penetration. With mobile penetration in Russia of nearly 100%, 70% of the phones are still not smartphones. Despite natural constraints of SMS text interfaces we made it work efficiently by finding the right mobile strategy plan, seamless UX solutions leveraging existing user habits. As a result within just under 4 years of product life we were able to reach impressive levels of customer adoption and customer portfolio penetration. As a result of our continued focus Today 9 out of 10 new debit and credit card customers choose to subscribe to SMS banking while 81% of those subscribed go with the pro version which includes all transaction notifications in addition to free payment and transactional SMS banking functionality. Highlights : • Single short number 900 available via text or USSD • Over 18 mln. active user base growing by 15% every quarter, over 4 mln. incoming cm requests daily • Far ahead of competitors by functionality and scale, all core mobile wallet functionality available at no banking fee • Over 0,4 Bn. EURO provisioning in direct revenues in 2014 • Strong and improving infrastructure, platforms and security, constantly innovating and improving and educating customers, introducing new services in production on quarterly basis • Driving customer behavior in mobile finance for later mobile app usage.
