About

Bank comes to you anytime and anywhere.

Innovation presentation

Standard Chartered Bank Korea’s Mobility Platform is an innovative workbench solution based on the Apple iPad. The solution was designed to significantly improve the experience of the bank’s front-line staff and customer interactions.

Mobility Platform digitises front-line tasks to significantly reduce administrative tasks and simplifies control tasks through end-to-end digital delivery and straight-through processing.

The platform also simplifies the sales and services provided for current/savings accounts, time deposits, credit/debit cards and mortgages, providing various methods of engaging with clients anytime and anywhere.

In addition, the solution provides flexible real estate costs and physical configurations, improves paper processing costs, and strengthens control environments by automating ‘checker’ requirements to shift from ‘quality through inspection’ to ‘quality at source’.

Launched in June this year, the platform is currently used by 150 front-line staff to sell retail products and handle both in-branch and external service requests at branches.

Uniqueness of the project

Mobility Platform significantly improves the productivity of front-line staff by empowering them with sales support tools including a lead manager, meeting scheduler, digital marketing library, rate comparator, rate calculators, pay scheduler, need-based conversation tool, instant bundling tool and approval-in-principle engine.

The platform also enables the bank to offer straight-through processing from account opening to account closure, and capture client data at the source using optical character recognition technology. In addition, the solution ensures a real-time connection and seamless data flow between internal and government databases, enabling employees to obtain data such as ID verification, or income/credit verification. Plus, the accounts can be activated anywhere and anytime, enabling bank staff to visit clients with a tablet to address their needs.
