With the Allianz Replacement Solution, claims handlers can make an offer on the day a customer makes a claim by assessing the content loss based on live Amazon prices.

Allianz customers can immediately receive an Amazon gift code for the agreed amount, which they can then spend on amazon.fr to replace their lost goods, or buy something else.

Much like the tool it has for claims handlers to determine the value of paintings, Allianz wanted to provide a tool that would allow claims handlers to make immediate offers based on current market prices.

This type of partnership between Amazon and an insurance company is cutting edge.

Uniqueness of the project

As a leader in the market, Amazon doesn’t usually cooperate with other companies. Allianz had to establish a good working relationship with the Amazon Europe team to create this solution.

This solution solves a recurrent issue that insurance companies face around house content compensation, who usually have to choose between customer satisfaction, average claim costs and handling expenses.

The Reason Behind

People often don’t keep invoices or receipts for their average household items, such as tableware, coffee machines, small pieces of furniture, clothes and so on.

When customers put in a claim, many companies ask for bills or send out an expert to assess the compensation. If bills can’t be provided, an expert will make a value estimation, and the compensation may not be paid out for a few weeks.

Results

The pilot phase has proven that both customer and handlers wanted a solution like this. Handlers feel confident when making their offers and customers are satisfied by the simplicity and the speed in which they get their compensation.
