Innovation presentation
Competition is increasing, both for banks and for their B2C customers. UniCredit decided to leverage its assets (data & reputation) in the payments segment to better face new competitors and help its B2C customers by offering a new distinctive service in the acquiring service.
Big Data technology has been the enabler that made this goal possible. Co-creation with the same customers and within UniCredit has been the new approach that lead UniCredit to building something innovative according to real needs.
My Business View is the result to support B2C customers in their daily activities by answering to frequent questions like “How my business is going? Am I performing well? Is my customers’ loyalty increasing? What about merchants in the same category? Can I feel satisfied of my +10% in last quarter?”
My Business View is a business & marketing intelligence tool, based on card transactions managed by UniCredit as an issuer and as an acquirer, delivering answers to merchants’ questions about how they are performing. The tool provides the merchant with simple and actionable insights about its business, in terms of card volumes, average ticket, number of customers, spending frequency and customer spending behavior.
The “killer-app” that makes this tool distinctive is the comparison features: the merchant is able to compare itself with the aggregated and anonymous KPIs of important merchant category benchmarks.
Uniqueness of the project
My Business View is unique because it
- provides business KPIs in comparison aggregated KPIs about its merchant category
- lets the merchant understand its customer’s spending behaviour outside its point of sale
Furthermore, the final version has been designed in co-design with real customers, through a pilot phase in 2014.
