Innovation presentation

'- Missed Call Recharge is a first-of-its-kind project in the world. HDFC Bank is one of the only 2 Banks in the country to offer this service. - The goal of Missed Call Recharge is to offer the easiest & fastest way of mobile recharge without the need to have an Internet connection or a mobile app / wallet. This facility works 24x7, from anywhere, for users irrespective of the type of mobile handset. This product has been developed keeping in mind the needs of semi-urban and rural population who have limited access to internet connectivity & digital banking channels. - To recharge prepaid mobiles, one can just give a missed call to 7308080808 and the recharge will be done instantly by debiting an HDFC Bank customer’s bank account (that the mobile number is linked to). HDFC Bank account holders can enable this facility for 3 mobile numbers by connecting the number to their bank account. Whenever a missed call is given from a mobile number, the customer’s account gets debited and the mobile number used to give the missed call gets recharged instantly. - This product is the perfect example of disruptive thinking of HDFC Bank’s Digital Innovation team implemented in collaboration with the Bank’s Business Technology & IT Groups. - Within the first 5 months of its launch, there are over 50,000 active customers using the facility with over 100,000 transactions amounting to over INR 6 Mn resulting in a 10% increase in overall recharge transaction volumes.
