National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) - One Nation, One Card for transport mobility is an initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to enable seamless travel by different metros and other transport systems across the country besides retail shopping and purchases. RBL Bank, one of India’s leading private sector banks in association with Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL), jointly announced the launch of the RuPay National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). This unique Prepaid Transit Cum Multipurpose Card is in line with the Government of India’s ‘One Nation One Card’ initiative. Bangalore Metro customers were earlier using closed loop cards for transit purpose, which can be only used for Bangalore Metro travel. RBL Bank NCMC Prepaid Card gives multiple use cases for customers in a single card. i. Interoperability in all Metros and other NCMC approved transit options along with BMRCL ii. Not just travel - RBL Bank NCMC Prepaid Card is an open loop card which can be used for fuel payments, shopping, dining, parking, toll payment etc. with POS & Ecom. iii. It can also be used for offline contactless transactions for low value payments.
