Innovation presentation

Getting ill abroad can be stressful, particularly if you don’t speak the local language or know how the local healthcare system works. In the heat of the moment, many travellers will go to a hospital when all they need is a simple outpatient appointment with a GP. Air Doctor set out to reimagine traveller health insurance and launched its telemedicine service, reducing claim costs for insurers by up to 14 percent and helping them create 20 percent more revenue. By providing a telemedicine service to all global travellers, Air Doctor provides users with peace of mind that, if they fall ill abroad, they can access the medical care they need - from someone who speaks their language - seamlessly and free at the point of use. As the world continues to combat Covid-19, it is more important than ever before to support global health services and relieve pressure on emergency care. The Air Doctor platform helps prevent unnecessary hospital overcrowding by offering travellers access to the care they need. This also reduces the costs for insurers as well. By directing travellers to local private clinics when they fall ill abroad, rather than to more expensive emergency care, claims costs have been reduced by up to 30%.
