Cross Border QR by MAE was launched on May 30, 2023 for travellers in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. The extension of service to China on November 8, 2023, further enhances the convenience for both outgoing Malaysian travellers and incoming tourists. This initiative eliminates the need for currency conversion and cash handling, benefiting over 8 million MAE App users and almost 800,000 QRPay merchants in Malaysia. One year since the launch, today Maybank's Cross border QRPay witnessed remarkable suceess, with over 220,000 transaction recorded, totalling an impresive amount of RM17,000,000. These figures underscore the growing popularity and adoption of the service among travelers., highlighting its effectiveness in facilitating seamless and secure cross-border transactions.
