Concept and Objectives: Digital Leap is MBH Bank's comprehensive digital education initiative that extends university-accredited training beyond employees to include their families. Our primary objective is to create a digitally fluent workforce and community capable of driving and adapting to technological transformation in banking. The program offers EU-recognized micro-credentials through our partnership with the University of Pécs, with participants progressing through Bronze, Silver, and Gold competency levels across five core digital domains: Information Literacy, Communication & Collaboration, Digital Content Creation, Safety & Security, and Problem-Solving.
Reasons Behind: Following our complex three-bank merger, MBH Bank faced significant challenges: diverse digital literacy levels across 7,000+ employees, generational gaps in technology adoption, and intense competition from digital-native challengers. Research showed only 6% of companies have comprehensive digital programs, while 85% see GenAI as the next major disruption. We recognized that sustainable transformation requires more than training—it demands cultural change that extends into employees' homes and communities.
State of Competition: While many banks offer digital training, none combine university accreditation with family inclusion. Competitors typically focus on job-specific skills or compliance training. International banks have strong digital academies but limit access to employees only. Fintechs excel at hiring digital natives but lack programs for workforce transformation. Our approach uniquely addresses both immediate capability building and long-term societal impact.
Sources of Inspiration: Our foundation comes from our Qorus Award-winning Power User community (3rd place, 2024), which demonstrated the power of grassroots digital champions.
Departments Involved: The initiative spans multiple divisions: HR leads program management and enrollment; IT develops the learning platform and explores K-Factor implementation; our AI Lab provides use cases and practical applications; Learning & Development designs curriculum with university partners; Finance manages the 900M HUF budget; Marketing handles internal communications and family outreach; Compliance ensures data protection and regulatory alignment. C-level sponsorship from our Chief Digital Officer ensures strategic priority and resource allocation.
Main Results So Far: As this is a newly launched initiative building on our Qorus Award-winning Power User program, we are currently in the planning and development phase. We have secured executive sponsorship and budget approval for the 900M HUF investment. The partnership framework with the University of Pécs is being finalized for EU-recognized micro-credentials. Our team is actively developing the curriculum structure around the five core digital competencies and investigating innovative assessment methodologies including the K-Factor approach.
