SME Banking

Overview

To ensure the intensity and high quality of peer exchanges, Qorus launched a series of virtual Leaders Roundtable events. These aim to create a uniquely relaxed and professional environment and deliver up-to-date synthesis documents, so senior executives can discuss and solve issues of their interest.

During our upcoming session, we’ll explore how technology is transforming agribanking to better serve the unique needs of the agricultural sector. This session will feature insights from EY experts, who will share key global trends and innovations shaping the future of agricultural finance.

Building on discussions from our previous session, we’ll delve deeper into topics such as:

  • Alternative data and Machine learning for credit scoring:
How Banks and fintechs are using data-driven tools that go beyond traditional credit scores; Analysing alternative data such as yield history and agricultural productivity metrics to assess the creditworthiness of farmers.
  • IoT and advisory solutions:
How Banks are supporting the adoption of IoT and data analytics tools to help farmers optimize resource use. Using technologies to monitor soil conditions, water levels, and crop health, to enable farmers to make informed decisions and reduce waste, leading to better yields and lower costs.
  • Digital and peer-to-peer payment solutions:
How banks are facilitating trade and payment solutions between producers, suppliers, and Agri - wholesalers. Using Digital platforms to facilitate direct connections between farmers and buyers, enabling farmers to bypass intermediaries and secure better market produce rates. These platforms often feature secure payment solutions and real-time transaction processing.
  • ESG and Climate transition technologies:
Leveraging technology to meet ESG reporting and compliance requirements, support certification, and driving sustainable transition practices in agriculture.

This session will combine expert insights with an open forum, allowing participants to share their perspectives and experiences on implementing innovative solutions in agricultural banking.
