AXA Hong Kong & Macau (AXA) announced the extension of its strategic partnership with Klook, one of the leading travel and leisure e-commerce platforms, to launch the new "Klook Rental Car Protection" to provide rental car excess coverage and personal accident protection of up to HKD42,000 and HKD120,000, respectively. The partnership caters to customers' increasing demand for more comprehensive rental car protection in response to the global travel re-bound.

"Klook Rental Car Protection" is an insurance plan exclusively offered to Klook's customers travelling abroad. When customers rent a car through the Klook app or website and select either the "Premium Package" or "Super Package Plus" overseas rental car plan, they can enjoy upgraded protection underwritten by AXA. In addition to the rental car excess coverage and personal accident protection, the policy also covers the replacement cost for the loss of travel documents in the rental car, the loss of rental fees due to the loss of travel documents and/or international driving licenses, the parking fees and rental car replacement fees due to traffic accidents, non-refundable rental car fees incurred due to flight delays or cancellations, as well as automatic extension of period of car rental insurance.

Kenneth Lai, Chief General Insurance Officer, AXA Hong Kong and Macau said, "We are delighted to further extend our partnership with Klook, introducing a market-leading rental car protection plan for our customers. Building on the success of 'Klook Travel Care' launched last year, we are now offering a new rental car protection plan to provide added protection for our customers and ensure they can enjoy worry-free travel abroad. Moving forward, we will continue to collaborate with Klook to address more customer needs by further expanding our product range available on Klook, and providing our customers with more diverse and comprehensive protection."

C.S. Soong, Vice President, Corporate Development, Klook said, "We have observed an increase in the number of customers opting for car rental services since the pandemic, thereby identifying a growing demand for related insurance services. We are pleased to extend our collaboration with AXA to launch a market-leading rental car protection plan, providing customers with more comprehensive services for their travel journeys. We look forward to continuous collaboration with AXA in the future, to further expand the range of insurance products and services on our platform, and to offer customers with more comprehensive and thoughtful protection."

In addition, Klook's customers can review their policies and easily submit claims through the Emma by AXA App, AXA's all-in-one insurance and health services platform, which streamlines the claims process and allows customers to get immediate support without geographical limitations.
