This month’s Qorus Insurance Innovation award goes to Bradesco Seguros for Caminhos, a unique mentoring program designed to support and empower rising leaders by giving them a more proactive role in their learning journey.
Disseminating company knowledge and instilling the company culture in new employees is important, especially to tackle the talent tsunami. Yet the top-down approach of traditional mentoring models, offering mentees little choice as to whom they are paired with and what they will learn, may prove counterproductive with today’s dynamic workforce. Recognizing these limitations, Bradesco Seguros set out to redefine the mentoring experience, ensuring a personalized and impactful development journey for participants.
The Caminhos approach to mentoring prioritizes the protagonism and autonomy of its participants. The program stands out for its unique pairing model, which utilizes anonymous matching of affinities to pair mentors and mentees. Unlike traditional mentoring programs, Caminhos empowers mentees to take control of their learning journey by allowing them to choose the topics they wish to explore with their mentors. This innovative approach fosters a deeper connection between participants and ensures that the mentoring experience is tailored to the individual needs and aspirations of each mentee.
At the heart of Caminhos is the integration of human connection and technology. Through the use of artificial intelligence, precise matches are made based on common interests, enabling mentees to connect with mentors who can provide valuable insights and guidance. The program also includes specialized workshops and indicators for comprehensive assessment, further enhancing the development journey for participants.
One of the key challenges faced during the implementation of the Caminhos program was finding a technology solution that aligned with the company's rigorous security standards while also meeting the program's specific requirements. However, with the support of strategic partnerships and internal collaboration between HR, IT, Digital and Marketing teams, Bradesco Seguros successfully identified a suitable platform and customized it to incorporate essential concepts such as customer-centricity and autonomy for mentees.
The results of the program's first edition underscore its success. With a 100% participation rate from eligible audiences and an impressive net promoter score of 95 for mentors and 88 for mentees, Caminhos has demonstrated its effectiveness in empowering leaders and fostering professional development within the organization.
By embracing innovation and prioritizing the individual needs of its employees, Bradesco Seguros distinguishes itself as a trailblazer setting new standards for workforce development and talent management in the insurance industry. Caminhos strikes us as an exemplary workforce transformation project, and a deserving recipient of this month’s innovation award.
Because it won Insurance Innovation of the Month, this project will automatically be nominated for the Qorus Innovation in Insurance Awards 2024. Submit your project by April 12, 2024 for a chance to win the yearly awards.
