Bradesco Seguros is nominated in the Global Innovator category at the Qorus-NTT DATA Innovation in Insurance Awards 2025. We asked the bank to present its strategy and actions in terms of innovation.

 

Why do you consider your company a Global Innovator?

Bradesco Seguros is recognized as the largest insurance company in Latin America and a leader in the digital transformation of the insurance sector. Our commitment to innovation is evidenced by our strategic partnerships with prominent international players, addressing globally relevant issues for the insurance industry. We have invested billions in technology and improving the customer and broker experience, highlighting our dedication to staying ahead of the curve. Innovation is a central pillar in our culture, promoted through our "Change" process, which encourages courage and boldness to explore new alternatives and facilitate continuous learning. This commitment allows us to offer innovative insurance products and cutting-edge technological solutions, providing the best possible experience for our customers and brokers.

As an example of the company's leadership and prioritization of innovation, Bradesco Seguros exemplifies leadership and innovation through its pioneering presence on TikTok and the use of AI in services, particularly in automotive insurance. In the health sector, the insurer leads with facial biometrics, blockchain, and telemedicine. AI integration in underwriting and claims processing underscores their commitment to innovation. The company fosters a culture of innovation with a robust AI project pipeline, regular Voice of the Customer (VOC) meetings, and a focus on team diversity. This approach drives customer experience innovation and positions the company at the industry forefront. Additionally, in Bradesco Life and Pension segment, we are launching new products in 2024 aimed at quick and easy contracting, which can be customized according to the client's consumption profile.

How is a culture of innovation achieved across your company?

The culture of innovation at Bradesco Seguros is promoted through various initiatives and tools.

• Innovation Tools: Led by areas such as IT, Customer Experience, User Experience, Innovation, and Agile Cells, the innovation tools are decentralized, consisting of agile methodologies, Design Thinking, Lean, Scrum, Safe, journey mapping, MVP prototyping, and more.

• desBRAva Program: This program focuses on fostering a culture of internal innovation, aiming to train employees to disseminate an innovative mindset throughout the organization. We work on content such as intrapreneurial skills, agile methodologies, and artificial intelligence, among other strategic topics. In 2024, we trained 29 employees (with a 97% retention rate among participants), concluding the program with an NPS of 95 points. • Insurance & Innovation Talks: A quarterly traveling event, held with a different partner each edition, that promotes strategic innovation topics in insurance, aiming to be an open space for knowledge exchange between our employees and the market. The themes addressed are mapped based on the future scenarios we work on in the company. Our latest edition focused on innovation in sustainability transforming the insurance sector, while previous editions covered themes such as technology, advanced connectivity, and customer focus. (6 editions held so far, with an average of 600 participants per meeting – both online and in-person). • Innovation Festival: We promote a week filled with innovation content, open to the entire innovation and insurance market as well as our internal audience. We feature a program of relevant speakers from the market, bringing provocative and futuristic content. Throughout the event, we also recognize the most innovative projects of the year, carried out by Bradesco Seguros Group employees, through the internal award “Innovative Highlight of the Year.” (over 3,500 participants). • Market Events: In 2024, in addition to national innovation events, we also participate in major international events such as ITC Latam & Web Summit Lisbon. All knowledge gained from these events is subsequently shared through reports and studies for the company and the market.

• Inovabra: Bradesco Seguros is part of one of the largest Innovation hubs in Brazil. We contribute with the ecosystem of Inovabra, developing projects in partnership with startups, and promoting initiatives. Inovabra Website

• EI Program: This program enables employees to submit improvement ideas to be implemented in the company. The ideas that receive the most votes from employees are prioritized for execution.


What are the major goals and results obtained from your ongoing innovation strategy?

Our continuous innovation strategy is revisited annually, aiming to meet objectives that include customer and broker satisfaction, revenue growth, and cost and expense reduction. In 2024, we interviewed 25 executives from Bradesco Seguros to make our strategy even more effective, guiding our main initiatives and actions in the pillars of Business, Culture, and Research:

• Business: From the interviews, we identified 74 possible innovation territories to prioritize and address with the business teams throughout the year, redirecting our efforts according to market updates and the needs of customers and stakeholders. We continue to prioritize one territory per company in the group (Bradesco Capitalization, Bradesco Auto Insurance and P&C, Bradesco Health, Bradesco Life and Pension.), working on strategic themes such as digital onboarding journeys, personalized offers, customer engagement models, and process innovation. Our ongoing innovation strategy is centered around ambitious goals and transformative results. We are committed to delivering groundbreaking solutions within Horizon 3 of the innovation framework, focusing on long-term, disruptive innovations that redefine industry standards.

• Culture: We mapped with executives the main pain points and challenges related to implementing a culture of innovation within the company, strategically directing six macro themes to be addressed in the desBRAva Program (considered Innovation of the Month in December 2024 by Qorus Accenture - Insurance Innovation of the Month: desBRAva by Bradesco Seguros - qorusglobal.com). The future scenarios identified in the interviews also guide the themes of the internal events held throughout the year.

• Research: We structured the Innovation Research front and gained traction in market trend studies and new technologies within our strategy. We conducted 12 studies guided by the Innovation Strategy, which encompassed six main Future Scenarios relevant to our business context.


How does your company manage the overall innovation process?

To monitor and strengthen the progress of our innovation strategy and initiatives, we have established monthly agendas dedicated to prioritizing and accelerating decisions related to our innovation processes. We conduct meetings with executives from each company within the group and committees that involve senior leadership to report on and promote the resulting projects and actions. This format allows us to be agile in the evolution of innovation territories, align strategic themes, and maintain close relationships with key decision-making sponsors within the company.

A notable example of our innovation efforts is the number of cases and projects in innovation that we submit for awards, including the Qorus, which increases every year. In 2025, we doubled the number of cases, with more than 40 projects submitted. Such projects are measured based on the company's KPIs and operational and strategic metrics, which evaluate our actions and the impact of innovation within the organization.
