As interest rates continue to fluctuate, BoursoBank is introducing a new way for borrowers to adapt: an entirely online, cost-free mortgage renegotiation service. Available to customers taking out a mortgage from May 15, 2025, the feature enables users to lower their monthly payments autonomously if interest rates fall—without the need to initiate contact with the bank.
This tool is activated automatically. When market conditions meet pre-set criteria, customers receive a push notification inviting them to renegotiate. A few clicks later, the new, lower monthly payment is confirmed. It’s a significant departure from traditional refinancing processes, which often require time-consuming negotiations or third-party involvement.
Repricing becomes part of the mortgage lifecycle
The new service builds on BoursoBank’s long-standing fully digital mortgage offering. Since entering the online mortgage market in 2015, the bank has issued more than €23 billion in loans. The latest development reflects a growing need for agility in a climate where borrowers face increasing uncertainty around affordability and future rates.
In 2017, a drop in average interest rates led to a wave of renegotiations—accounting for 60% of annual loan production. BoursoBank’s new model anticipates similar conditions, offering clients a proactive and simplified pathway to manage their debt.
No fees, no paperwork
The repricing option comes without fees—no charges for renegotiation, early repayment, or administration. It’s accessible to a broad range of borrower profiles, with no minimum down payment or income transfer required. In a market where transparency and flexibility are increasingly valued, the move signals a shift toward more consumer-driven credit structures—where banks, not clients, initiate adjustments that reflect real-time market shifts.
