Combined Insurance adds pet coverage to benefits lineup

The Healthy Paws insurance integrates into employer-sponsored voluntary benefits programs, enabling businesses to include pet coverage alongside other supplemental options. Rich Williams, President of Combined, said the addition offers “meaningful, modern benefits” for employers aiming to boost retention and loyalty. Consumers can also purchase the insurance directly online.

Healthy Paws, also part of Chubb, provides coverage for dogs and cats, including accidents, illnesses, and emergency care. Unlike traditional benefits tied to open enrollment periods, pet owners can sign up any time, with coverage starting the next day. Plans offer flexible deductibles and reimbursement levels, with claims processed via mobile or web. Reimbursements typically arrive within two business days, and there are no annual or lifetime payout limits.

A strategic addition

Combined will distribute Healthy Paws insurance through its Combined U.S. and Chubb Workplace Benefits (CWB) brands. Combined U.S. serves employees and individuals through agents and brokers, while CWB focuses on mid- and large-market employers via brokers and benefits consultants.

Alex Faynberg, Executive Vice President and Head of Healthy Paws, described the partnership as a natural extension of current offerings. “More people are looking for solutions that support their personal lives,” he said, highlighting the demand for benefits that reflect the importance of pets in households today.

For Combined, the move broadens its supplemental insurance suite beyond traditional health or accident products to align with evolving employee and consumer priorities.
