Please tell us about Bank of Bird-in-Hand.

Bank of Bird-in-Hand opened its door on December 2, 2013, the first bank in three years to receive a bank charter in the USA and the first to be chartered in Pennsylvania in five years. There have been no new bank charters issued in Pennsylvania since.

A large portion of the bank’s customer base is from the Plain Community which includes representation from both Amish and Mennonite.

Bank of Bird-in-Hand was ranked 24th on the Top 200 Healthiest Banks in America Listing, according to DepositAccounts.com. In addition, Bank of Bird-in-Hand has earned the coveted 5-Star rating from Bauer Financial. In 2017, the bank ranked number 17 in a list of the top 50 fastest-growing Central Pennsylvania-based companies over the past three years.
