This report covers the eighth consecutive year of meetings of Efma’s Retail Banking Distribution Advisory Council (formerly the Retail Banking Advisory Council). The Council consists of senior executives from leading retail banks across Europe and beyond. It continues to provide a stimulating forum for the exchange of ideas, best practices and a range of discussions on different topical issues. As one of the financial sector’s leading ‘think tanks’, its aim is to provoke, challenge and encourage retail banks as they seek to develop more effective distribution models and strategies. This most recent series of Council discussions has focused on four main topics: • Developing more effective multichannel strategies. • The changing roles of different channels. • Focus on the customer. • Digitisation.
