Telematics being a well known Insurance approach in Canada, based on Desjardins Group marketing and sensibilisation campaign, the realization was made that traditional black box offers (ex: ODBII port) had limitation around ease of use and engagement, so Desjardins Groups put a small “swat”cross-functional team of innovators to work and bring a new technology to provide the same insurance benefit with a much simpler technology and greater customer engagement. The allowing Desjardins Group to reinforce its position as an innovator and leader. Desjardins Group pushed its telematics offer even further with the launch of its Ajusto mobile app in March 2015, which makes Desjardins the first Canadian insurer to offer a telematics insurance program that’s 100% mobile (and one of the first in the world).
