Innovation presentation

Bondora, previously known as isePankur, was launched in February 2009 to offer peer-lending service solely for investors and borrowers residing in Estonia. However, in 2013 pursuing the need for affordable credit lines from borrowers residing in countries with inefficient banking systems, Bondora pioneered the peer-lending space by opening a truly cross-border platform. Thus, while other peer-lending platforms focus on a single market, i.e. UK investors investing into the loans of UK based borrowers, Bondora allows borrowers in Finland that face high interest rates in their home country, to borrow money from German investors. As a result, borrowers get affordable loan, while investors earn premium returns. As of July 2014, just 12 months after the launch of the cross-border platform, Bondora: 1) Offers access to affordable loans for borrowers in Estonia, Finland, Spain and Slovakia, with expansion to other Eurozone countries pending; 2) Helped over 10,000 borrowers get access to affordable credit and over 6,000 investors from over 30 countries to start earning premium returns 3) Issued over EUR 23 million in loans to borrowers; 4) Paid out over EUR 2.6 million in interest to investors.
