Innovation presentation

Standard Chartered Bank Korea has been struggling to stay relevant in the changing waters of the banking industry with its aging customer base and weak competitive position in attracting new and young customers. This is why we have begun the exclusive strategic alliance with Disney Korea. Collaboration with Disney/MARVEL and related digital marketing activities give us an opportunity to add positive, familiar brand image and provide a diving for expanding range of young clients. We launched Disney/MARVEL designed products in April 2017. In order to make successful co-brand products, we designated a person in charge of each department and are trying to make optimized products, not only on designs but value propositions. We are using digital and online as a main channel to execute marketing promotion fully leveraging our strong digital capabilities, especially Self Bank, our mobile sales application enabling New-To-Bank customers to register products without branch visit. Also, instant debit card issuance is possible for client convenience through our award winning Mobility Platform, a tablet-PC based sales and service platform. Our Disney/MARVEL video has been well received and created buzz on SNS. We issued more than 70K debit cards doubling the average debit card issuance before Disney/MARVEL product launch, and NTB customers increased by 40%. We plan to continue our new and differentiated marketing that only we can provide leveraging our partnership with Disney for the next 5 years.
