UniCredit Bank’s Virtual Debit Card was launched in November 2021 as part of the Bank’s strategy to offering clients with the most innovative products, enablers to simplify and improve their lives and a bank that they can use anywhere, anytime. UniCredit Bank's virtual cards offer clients unique benefits and relevant differentiators: a quick solution to their needs of solving everything on the spot, directly from their mobile phone, enjoying the benefits of cashless payments without having to worry about „plastic”. The two virtual debit cards available in the Bank's offer (Visa Classic and Visa Gold) can be created by the account holders that have a RON and / or EURO account with UniCredit Bank Romania and issued instantly through the Mobile Banking application. Use of the card is immediate, without a branch visit, and the card benefits of enhanced security settings, including an immediate card-off option. Self-issuance gives account holders the ultimate benefits in convenience and control: the cards can be managed directly from the Mobile Banking application in order to change trading limits, lock / unlock, or even close the card. The issuance and management of the virtual card are free of any charges. When issuing their cards from the Mobile Banking application, customers can choose from a number of 5 colors for Visa Classic and 3 colors for Visa Gold. In order to be used at points of sale (POS) for payments, virtual cards can be used through enrolling in the Apple Pay or Google Pay virtual wallets on clients’ phone, while for internet transactions, the usage is quite similar to “plastic” cards, using the information generated in the Mobile Banking application.
