OCBCx65Chulia, a metaverse launched in Decentraland, is designed to extend the bank’s digital reach by integrating a heritage museum and banking lobby in one immersive and interactive space. Named after the address of the bank’s headquarters on Chulia Street, Singapore, OCBCx65Chulia allows visitors to learn about OCBC’s historical milestones along with the latest banking products and services. OCBCx65Chulia arose from a ground-up initiative by the bank’s Group Operations & Technology staff during an internal innovation sprint as part of the bank’s digitalisation and transformation efforts. Through a grand total of 43 iterations (and counting), the current version deployed on Decentraland went through a series of enhancements and engagement sessions with various stakeholders, making sure that the customer experience remains as the priority.
