Innovation presentation

NBK's payments roadmap aims to ensure convenience and efficiency in payment methods. By introducing several pioneering payment solutions improving the payments landscape in Kuwait. These include FlexiPay, allowing customers to use NBK cards for purchases at local and international merchants, converting transactions into 12-month interest-free instalments through mobile app. NBK was the first in Kuwait introducing Apple Pay in 2022, catering to the 70% of NBK mobile app users on the iOS platform. This addition elevated the payment experience for customers both in-store and online. Furthering their digital payments commitment, in February 2023, NBK became one of the first banks in Kuwait launching Google Pay, offering Android device and watch users a digital payment solution. In 2020, NBK introduced Fitbit Pay, Garmin Pay, smartwatch payments, and Samsung Pay and in introducing introduce "Selfie-pay. NBK has been the leader in NFC POS machines with 100% of POS machines being contact-less, and partnered with over 10 Electronic Payment Agents, including Upayments, Hesabi, and Talabat, to expand digital payment channels. NBK also partnered with E-Net providing unified and convenient digital bill payments. The innovative marketing campaign for Apple Pay was led by Bader AlJanah from Cards Products team which included the slogan "On me," derived from an Arabic saying, was crafted to resonate with Kuwaiti culture. It encapsulates the act of paying for others, emphasizing the inclusive nature of Apple Pay. The goal of digital payments is to streamline and facilitate digital payments, making it as easy and secure as possible for users.
