The insurance industry has historically missed a prime opportunity in connecting the purchase of it’s policies to the purchase of the original product. The additional steps and processes that must be fulfilled disconnect the policy from the good or service. The In-Checkout Widget (ICW) helps change that to allow the insurance industry to sell where the consumers buy. We are helping to make the purchase of insurance just like that of other goods in today’s e-commerce world, a single click and it’s done.

It’s built to handle immense scale, and handles all of the required information needed in the heavily regulated insurance industry, language, location, product type, payment terms are all done through the integration, so the consumer can make a single click and within seconds have a policy in their inbox.

We are currently facilitating 60,000 quotes a day, and have integrated to much of the live-event industry.

Uniqueness of the project

The widget lives in an I-Frame and therefore is housed on our servers. The entire process is secure, tokenized, and can be fulfilled without forcing the buyer to leave the existing check-out page. It provides geographic details down to the municipal level for tax, and reporting purposes. It can also be localized for both language and currency. It has the ability to handle multiple products at the same time, and captures real time data on the session, all with A/B testing functionality.

The Reason Behind

The disconnect between the fulfillment of insurance policies and the growing popularity of e-commerce highlighted an opportunity ripe for innovation. The initial concept needed a proving ground and live-events and the non-refundable nature of the tickets was a perfect first step. The distinct nature of live-events and the robust purchasing behaviors forced us to build a technology that could handle enormous spikes for periods of time, and requires our portion of the transaction to be seemless and immediate.

Results

We were a EFMA Accenture Bronze winner a couple years ago for a much earlier version of the total ecosystem. And have been named a finalist for the Octane High Tech awards for best consumer product, and have been a top tech startup in Built in LA, and the Tech Tribune along with the Business Journal. We have a perfect retention record for signed clients having never lost one yet. We have also increased the ease in which it is to do business with us by decreasing the integration time from an average of 120 days to now around 40.

We continued our exponential growth in 2019 and 2020 was poised for even greater success. COVID has effectively shut down live events for the time being but even in this space we see the distribution of our widget growing even faster than last years revenues. We have seen nearly a 4x growth of integrated clients (predicted widget loads for when live events are no longer restricted).
