About
Aligned with UN Sustainability Goals, Generali Vitality partners with The Human Safety Net. Members can now donate their earned rewards, empowering them to support those in need.
Innovation presentation
To reinforce the ESG commitment and the contribution to the UN 2030 Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs), Generali Engagement Solutions has embedded a feature that allows members of the Generali Vitality program to seamlessly swap their rewards with a donation to The Human Safety Net initiatives.
It aims to generate a concrete impact on the Society, by contributing to improve policyholders' lives and health on one side and by supporting charity on the other
Uniqueness of the project
The project involves two legal entities of Generali Group:
• Generali Engagement Solutions (GENS): a company that since 2016 has been responsible for developing and distributing preventive and dynamic programs (e.g., Vitality) in the Group's 7 major European markets (Germany, France, Austria, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic and Poland).
• The Human Safety Net (THSN): a foundation that since 2017 has helped transform the lives of more than 325.000 people in 26 countries in Europe, Asia, and South America through its global network of NGOs and the efforts of Generali’s people and agents.
To contribute more and more to the progress and development of the Society, GENS and THSN have signed a partnership to empower Vitality members to actively participate in the activities and projects promoted by the Group's charitable foundation.
Vitality is a 3-step program developed by Discovery Ltd. and distributed in Europe by GENS designed to monitor and improve customer health by leveraging incentives and benefits offered by multiple commercial partners. Based on the initial health assessment and individual targets, users receive weekly goals to be physically active (e.g. walk short distances instead of driving) and they earn points upon completion. The target achievement is awarded with the chance to spin a Reward-Wheel and to win a voucher to be spent at a selected list of top-tier business partners.
Capitalizing on the program's high engagement levels, in 2021 Generali opted to integrate the option for thousands of European Vitality members to exchange their rewards with a direct donation to THSN, thus supporting projects designed to unlock the potential of individuals and communities in vulnerable circumstances (e.g., THSN European Family Program, 2022 Ukraine Campaign).
By integrating this seamless function, GENS has significantly reduced the friction and bureaucracy associated with donating. With a single touch, policyholders can contribute to the progress of the Society without having to worry about banking processes, approvals, and signatures.
Thus, since 2021, the Vitality program has not only improved the personal well-being of members by incentivizing healthy habits and sustainable behaviors but has also encouraged better living conditions for the most vulnerable people, aiming directly at UN 2030 3rd SDG (Health and well-being).
